"Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should" (Ps. 90:12).

Our lives are like a jewel box in which God has placed all our days as jewels. He draws out a day, one at a time, and presents it to us to use.

As we begin a new day we accept the finality of our yesterdays. They are past. Paul wrote, "Forgetting the past" (Phil. 3:13). We face the uncertainty of out tomorrows. "For the length of your lives is as uncertain as the morning fog---now you see it; soon it is gone" (James 4: 14).

We have the reality of our present moment, our today. How will we use it? WE can spend it on ourselves, on some cherished plan or desire of our own. Or we can present it to the Lord to use in a way that will bring joy to His heart and glory to His name. With the privilege of using God's today, why waste time brooding or longing over the past' It is gone. Why be fearful of tomorrow? It may never come.

Today, now, this present moment, is a special gift from God. He will reveal how we are to spend it. The Psalmist said, "TEACH us to number our days." I believe that means we are to live them one day at a time.

David wrote, "Lord, help me to realize how brief my time on earth will be. Help me to know that I am here for but a moment more. My life is no longer than my hand! My whole lifetime is but a moment to you. Proud man ! Frail as breath! A shadow! And all his busy rushing ends in nothing. He heaps up riches for someone else to spend. And so, Lord, my only hope is in you" (Ps. 39: 4-7)

It has been said, "Tomorrow is God's secret, but today is your to live. This is God's today; lets live it for Him.....

Have a great Thursday....Love mark Phil. 4:11
