"So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me" (Acts 27:25) Paul was traveling by ship from Rome when a fierce storm( a northeaster) came up. The ship was driven off course. They did not see the sun or stars for three days, and had gone "a long time without food. In verse 20 they gave up hope of being saved.

Though all human effort had come to no avail, Paul said, "be of good cheer." They thought they were about to die on the sea, how could they be of good cheer? "Not one of you will be lost, only the ship will be destroyed" (v.22). Paul knew the "Great Encourager," the One who can keep our spirits up in the midst of a storm. Paul revealed to them why he could be cheerful. He was in such close communication with God that God could reveal His will to Paul. God promised that their lives would be spared and Paul believed Him. Paul's belief was in SOMEONE not SOMETHING, God Himself. Its easy to believe God when everything is going along smoothly, but Paul could trust Him even in a firece storm. Paul's belief was based on God's Word to him----"Just as he told me."

There are storms that rage in the world today, not on oceans or seas, but in hearts and lives of people. As we face our storms, we too, can meet them with the same strong faith that Paul had. As we keep our line of communication to God open, and stay in His word, we too can share those words of comfort.

We must stay close to the Lord to get that hope of assurance.."for I have faith in God."

Have a wonderful Friday. The best is yet to come Love Mark Phil. 4:11
