"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you" (Ps. 32:8). In preparation for living, we enter the "University of God." He promises to be our teacher. I am a retired school teacher. This is some solid stuff.

God promises three things in this verse. First, He says, "I will instruct you." This means to communicate knowlege, to inform. He imparts this knowlege in such a way that we can know and understand. His Book of Insruction is the Bible. You know, "when all else fails, read the instructions." We won't always be able to find specific directions like, "do this or "don't do that." Yet as we read it regularly our hearts and minds are open to His instruction. He can reveal His will to us.

Next, He says, "I will teach you in the way you should go." God has provided for us a Practical Training Course and the Holy spirit is our special instructor for it. "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things" (John 14:26).

All the schools I taught in had guidance counselors. Their job is to provide special guidance and counseling to the students. God gives special counseling too. "I will counsel you and watch over you." God sees our "step by step" needs and provides "step by step" counseling, for He keeps His eyes on us at all times. "Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber of sleep" (Ps. 121:4).

What a wonderful promise for us in our daily living. Often problems arise that we do not know how to handle. There may be needs with no apparent solution. Situations beyond human possibilities. God's promise for us is, "I will instruct you---I will teach you---I will counsel you." Solid as a rock!

Have a great weekend and an uplifting worship experience on Sunday. I will write to again you in one week....Love mark Phil. 4:11
