"But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds" (Ps. 73:28).

Asaph was perplexed over the injustices of life. He became "ruffled" as he considered the prosperity of the evil-doers. Was it worth trying to lead an upright and Godly life?

His answer came as he went into God's presence. He realized that he had left God out of his thinking. God wasn't through with the people yet. Some wonderful assurances came to him. First, he was assured of God's presence. "Yet I am always with you" (Vs 23). No matter where we are or what is happening, we are assured of His presence. God's power was assured to Asaph. "You hold me by my right hand" (Vs. 23). In our Christian experience I am glad that we don't have to hold on to God. We would not have sufficient power. He holds on to us and doesn't let go.

Asaph was also assured of God's guidance. "You guide me with your counsel" (Vs 24). When we do not know which way to go or what decision to make, he does it for us. Asaph came to a wonderful conclusion. "But God is the strength of my heart" (Vs 26). Our weakness becomes His strength. He is our portion forever, sufficient for each need each day of our lives.

No wonder Asaph could say, "But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds." As you go through the day, feel your nearness to God...

Have a great day...Let your light shine....Love mark Phil. 4:11
