In the last devotional, I gave you a list of ideas from George Muller on how to know the will of God in our lives. I would like to use his ideas to pursue this a little further. I believe that the most important way to know God's will is through prayer. James 1: 5-6 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind". Paul prayed for exactly that in Col. 1:9. He wrote, "we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to FILL YOU WITH THE KNOWlEGE OF HIS WILL".

The next way to know God's will is through the Bible. To Timothy, Paul wote, "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness" (2 Tim 3:16). The Psalmist put it this way, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path" (119:105). How can we know His will if we do not know his Word? Abraham Lincoln said, "I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book".

There are two more areas I want to explore which I will continue tomorrow. I will leave you with another quote from Abraham Lincoln is his second inaugural address. Of both the North and South he said, "Both read the same Bible, and pray to the same God; and each invokes His aid against the other. The prayers of both could not be answered; that of neither has been answered fully. The Almighty has His own purposes".

Have a wonderful Monday....Let you lights shine to others....Love mark Phil:4:11
