"For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisors make victory sure" (Prov. 11:14).

In finishing this devotional on knowing the will of God, I have explored prayer and getting into the Word. Another aspect is the wise counsel of others. "Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith" (Heb. 13:17). We can gain much insight from the Christian role models set before us. It would be unwise not to seek their counsel. Their word is not sacrosanct, but fresh insight often gives us a new perspective.

But finally, back to the Abraham Lincoln quote from his second inaugural address. Remember, Lincoln was speaking of BOTH the North and South when he said, "Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God; each invokes His aid against the other. The prayers of both could not be answered; that of neither has been answered fully. The Almighty has His own purposes."

So what is His will? What is His purpose? "This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and come to a knowlege of the truth (1 Tim. 2:4). His will and purpose is for us to be saved and come to Him. "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" (2Peter 3:9). God's will is for all to repent and come to Him. In Him and only Him there is life, and life abundant. Only when we come under the will of our God, can we then go out and be that "wise counsel" for others.

GOD IS SO GOOD, GOD IS SO GOOD, GOD IS SO GOOD, HE'S SO GOOD TO ME.....

Have a great day and let your light shine.....Love mark Phil. 4:11
