"Never lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual ferver, serving the Lord" (Rom. 12:11).

Do you know people that conduct their business so efficiently that they are said to have an "eye for business"? Others are so haphazard you wonder how they stay in business. As Christians we are "in business," the greatest business in the world. We are in partnership with God to share the Gospel of Christ. Regardless of whether we are serving in Christian or secular fields of activity, whatever we do should be done for Him. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not men" (Col. 3:23). Whether we are a student or in the work force, whatever we do, we should do diligently unto Him.

We are not to be half-hearted, lukewarm, lacking zeal in our service for Him. Of the Laodician church of Revelation the Spirit said, "I know your deeds, that you are neither hot or cold. I wish you were one or the other. So, because you are are lukewarm--neither hot or cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth" (3:15-16).

We should be enthusiastic in all we do for Him. If we are to have an a effect on others, we need to be enthusiastic about what we believe. Years ago, we had a vacuum cleaner salesman in our home doing a demonstration of his product (and a free rug shampoo). He was knowlegable and enthusiastic about his machine, but his young assistant was falling asleep during his presentation. Not very excited....

One of my summer jobs duing college and just after was pumping gasoline. I was, and still is a menial task. (for all of you not from NJ, we are still served by an attendant) My boss however was a straight-shooting, and very fair man. Most of us would do anything he asked and more because he was such a great boss. Are we ready to go beyond the call of duty for the Lord. Or are we apathetic in our service? Have we lost the enthusiam and love we used to know? If so, we should ask God to restore to our lives the joy and fervency we once had. It is time to avail ourselves of the opportunities that are before us to serve the Lord with quiet earnestness and enthusiasm of spirit. He's a great boss you know...

Have a great day....make a difference....Love mark Phil. 4:11
