Spiritual Radiance

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" (Rom. 12:12).

We are not given a guarantee of a life of ease when we become Christians. Problems still come; adversity my still strike us. In this scripture Paul has given us the formula to help us maintain our "spiritual radiance."

First there is the radiance of rejoicing. We are to rejoice in hope. Life is not bearable without hope. We hope that things will be better tomorrow. We hope that we will be taken out of our present circumstance. The Christian can really rejoice in this hope in his Christian life. The reality comes through Jesus Christ. "Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Col. 1:27). Our hope can reach beyond today. It can reach even beyond our present life. We have this wondrous hope of Jesus' return. We can have a rejoicing because of the promise of His return.

Next is the radiance of patience. We are to be patient in tribulation. God uses tribulation to teach us patience....being patient under pressure. To develope patience we need to be placed in situations where we are given chances to grow. The trial that requires patience to endure it, develops the patience to endure it.

"Because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverence. Perseverence must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything" (James 1:3-4).

Then there is the radiance of prayer. We are to continue to be prayer warriors. Prayer will keep our hope alive, and give us the endurance to face our present needs. An effective prayer can lift us above our present problems. For God says to us; it is not "if you pray" but "when you pray." Our prayer enjoins us to the Lord in fellowship It is this partnership with Him that we can accomplish His great eternal purpose and plan

Lets make sure that we maintain our spiritual radiance. The rejoicing in hope, patience in tribulation, and steadfastness in prayer..

Have a wonderful day...Make a difference... Love mark Phil. 4:11
