Ambassadors For The Lord

"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf; Be reconciled to God (2 Cor. 5:20).

Countries send ambassadors all around the world. Their job is to act on behalf of their country. Their own interests and ambitions must be put aside. The decisions made are those that reflect the interests of their country and cannot be influenced by personal ideas. Their whole life is given completely to fulfilling the mission of the country that sent them.

Paul considered himself to be an ambassador...An ambassador for Jesus Christ. He had no desires, interests, or plans of his own. His complete loyality and obedience was to Jesus Christ. Paul had the authority to speak for Jesus because Jesus was his King. He said, "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors."

We too, as members of God's family, are personal represenatives for Jesus. It is an appointment from the Lord. "As the Father sent me, I am sending you" (John 20:21). We are to act of Christ's behalf. "as though God were making his appeal through us." We have His message. "Be reconciled to God."

Our responsibility living here in God's place is not to be taken in a cavalier manner. It means putting aside our ambitions and aims. It means giving Him priority in our lives. We are His ambassadors here on earth in what we say and do. It does not say that we are to be His represenatives when we want to or feel like it. It says, "WE ARE Christ's ambassadors." He has put us in this position and we are to act like His ambassador....In His service....Serving His purpose..

Our question to ourselves ought to be, "Am I acting as His ambasaador, in His stead? It is a challenge isn't it?

Have a wonderful day...Lets all try to make a difference....Love mark Phil. 4:11
