Start Each Day With God

"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it (Ps.118:24).

Have you ever reflected at the end of a particularly difficult day and said, "Whew...Am I glad this day is over....I should have never gotten up this morning..We have more than likely all had this experience. Our mind-set at the beginning of the day can set the pace for that day. Whether we are a "morning person" or not, if we begin the day in a negative way, complaining and dreading what lies ahead, we will soon be filled with self-pity and discouragement.

What a difference it makes if our first look of the morning is into the face of God. The best preparation for the day is dedicating it to Him; by asking Him to be with us as we converse with people, in our thoughs and our actions, that they may be pleasing to Him. By taking time to to tell Him that we love Him, and asking Him that we may fit into His plan for us. Each day offers new opportunities. There will be new choices to make, new decisions, new chances to serve the Lord. It may even be a day filled with pain, heartache, or unsolved problems. How different our day will be if we begin it with a rejoicing spirit, knowing that He has entrusted it to us! "we will rejoice and be glad in it"

God has given His promise to encourage us through the day. "And your strength will equal your days" (Deut. 33:25). "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him (Nahum 1:7).

Yesterday with its successes and failures is past. We are not to look back. We can rest in the knowlege that tomorrow is still in God's hands. Only today is ours to live for Him. It is SO important how we use it for Him. Our joy is not in the day, but in the Lord who made the day. "Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever (Ps 145:2). Every day? That includes today...

Have a great day...Let your light shine for Him Love mark Phil. 4:11
