Real Security

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power" (Eph. 6:10).

Because we have been away from home for extended periods of time, Jane and I decided to invest in a security system in our home. It can be a nuisance sometimes. Last week, upon leaving the house and setting the alarm, I realized that I had forgtten something inside. I went back in too quickly. The VERY LOUD alarm went off..Soon there was a call from the security people which I had to answer and tell them that it was a mistake and give them our password.

How important it is to have a strong defense for the sprirtual conflict we may find ourselves in? Our conflict is against the enemy of our souls. In any conflict it is of utmost importance not to underestimate the strength of our opponent. The power is too strong for us to fight alone. God has made it possible to overcome our enemy through Christ. "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

The Lord has made these resourses available to us that we may have a life of victory. Though we are weak in ourselves, we CAN BE strong in the Lord because of who He is. We can be strong in His power and might because of what He has done for us. We do not gain this strength through our own efforts, but through Christ. Through Jesus we have all the power of God available to defeat Satan at every turn. Paul wrote, "I pray that out of his glorious riches that he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being (Eph. 3:16). Strengthened within!

But not only is He our inner strength, but Eph. 6:11 says, "to put on the full armor of God." How? "Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom 13:14). Satan tells us to be weak, be filled with self-pity, be discouraged, be nagging, be defending your own rights. God says for us to be strong, be restful, be at peace, be content, be rejoicing, be the winner. Jesus told us that the battle is not ours but God's. He explained in Matt. 28:18 that "All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me."

It doesn't matter whether we've been in the Lord for a week or a lifetime. A person has no more power in himself to assure victory. Our Strength must be CHRIST'S STRENGTH, from the beginning of our walk until the end. "But thanks be to God! For he gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 15:57). We can all be winners...

Have a wonderful day in the Lord....Let your light shine for Him....Love mark Phil. 4:11
