Being Touched By God

"Saul also went to his home in Gibeah, accompanied by valient men whose hearts God had touched" (! Sam. 10:46).

Saul had just been made king and was returning to his home in Gibeath. With him was a band of men "whose hearts God had touched." While Jesus was on earth, He drew 12 men to Him. "He appointed twelve----designating them apostles---that they might be with Him" (Mark 3:14)

God has always put the working of His will into the hands of people. "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized shall be saved" (Mk. 16: 15-16). The Great Commission as it is called is a call to all believers. What He has for us to do may not be what we would have chosen. I was a school teacher for 35 years. It was not in my plans to be the minister here at Northfield, but it must have been in God's. It is my responsibility to do some things that I didn't think I could do. God touches our lives in ways we may not always understand, but it is for the working of His good will.

I guess there is a question here. Are we letting God touch our lives? Are we tender to that touch? Are we letting Him use us wherever we are today to accomplish His purpose? His purpose in and through our lives? It may not be the path that we have chosen, but God-touched lives are willing to follow where He leads.

"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27). The reward? "I give them eternal life and they shall never perish" (vs.28).

Have a wonderful day....Let your light shine for Him Love mark Phil. 4:11
