Turning Care Into Prayer

"Do not be anxious about anything" (Phil. 4:6).

If a poll were taken among all of the people you know, asking them what they want more than anything else, what would their reply be? Happiness? Peace? Money? I believe people want to be happy. I think that happiness comes from having peace within us. An alleviation of the cares of life.

God's Word promises freedom from worry. There is inner peace available to us today. It begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom. 5:1). When we at peace with God we can experience the peace of God in our lives.

Philippians 4:6-7 provides the formula for a worry-free life. First it says, "Be anxious in nothing." Losing sleep at night? Carrying tomorrow's cares with today's strength? When we worry like this, it indicates that we don't think our God is big enough to handle our problems without our help. He didn't say we are not to be anxious about some things, most things, or the easy things. It says we are to be "anxious in NOTHING."

"But in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." This is our key to a personal relationship with God, a peace with God. Then the rest will follow. "And the peace of God, with transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Jesus Christ" (v 7). Today our lives may be filled with care, and we may feel that we have every reason to worry. Yet God's Word say, "Don't be anxiuos about ANYTHING" Jesus says to us, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow" (Matt. 6:34).

I think that Peter sums it up as he writes to us, "Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you" (1Pet. 5:7). Prayer is the avenue by which we can cast our cares on Him...Turning cares into prayers....

Have a wonderful day...Let you light shine for Him...Love mark Phil. 4:11
