The Letter We Are

"You yourselves are a letter, written on our hearts, know and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts" (2 Cor. 3:2-3).

Whether we know it or want to admit it, people are watching how we live our lives. What we do and what we say. If our Christianity is important to us, and we are willing to "walk the walk," we should welcome the scrutiny.

In this scripture Paul compares our lives to letters (I guess in our modern society that can mean even email letters) that are read. In part, we are "letters of recommendation." "You show that you are a letter from Christ." Our Christian walk is a representation of what we stand for. We are HIS letters of recommendation as to what a Christian life is supposed to be. The four gospels explain Jesus. OUR GOSPEL, our letter, explains us. Some people may read us more than they read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Can we stand up under the scrutiny?

People will detect inconsistancies in our lives and often judge our chuch by us. They may see flaws in our lives and judge the message of Jesus by them. We become God's messenger (or maybe just "message") as we take Jesus into our lives as our personal Savior. "Written not with ink but with the Spirit of the Living God."..."Not on tablets of stone, (or paper or cyberspace) but on tablets of human hearts."

So.....What do people learn of Jesus Christ by reading our lives? "You show that you are a letter from Christ." Do we? The more I write, the more I know that I am writing to myself. Lets allow our thoughts, words, and actions, be consistent with our calling. The calling to Christ
