Having Good Feet

"And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "Blessed are the feet of those who bring good news" " (Rom. 10:15)!

Did you ever have some really good news to share with someone? We were literally bursting at the seams to tell. The anticipation was overwhelming to us. Wouldn't it be great if we had the same eagerness, anticipation, and "bursting at the seams" attitude to share the gospel of Christ with others? After all, it is the "Good News." The NAS says, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of GOOD THINGS."

We usually don't think of our feet until something happens to them. Years ago a clammer friend of mine stepped on a whelk while clamming. Part of it broke off in his foot and it got severely infected. He could not work for close to a month. You see, when we do our clamming, our feet bring us to the clams. I don't ever remember thinking of the foot as being beautiful, but here in Romans 10, thats what Paul calls them.

It does not seem to have anything to do with their size or shape though, only their use. God calls the feet of those who carry the Good News of Jesus beautiful. God sees the beauty of the feet willing to serve Him. A really special beauty in the feet willing to serve wherever He may lead them. God may lead us to some prominent place of service or some obscure one. Be assured, God SEES the willing feet of those who walk His paths wherever they lead.

Yeah, yeah, yeah....I know it is not our feet that share the Good News of Jesus with others, but what a wonderful metaphor. After all, our feet may take us to the clams, to our work, to our play, to worship....Why not allow them to carry us to someone who needs the Good News of Jesus Christ?

Have a great week....Let your light shine for Him Love mark Phil. 4:11
