God's Purpose For Us

"For it is God who works in you to will and act according to his good purpose" (Phil. 2:13).

God wants us to work wholly in and through Him. When we become Christians, we turn our lives over to Him. Our lives need to be lived according to His plan for us. Why? Because He knows that we are not capable of accomplishing the plan in our own strength. He is the power source! "I can do everything through him who gives me strength" (Phil. 4:13). If we try to do it on our own we will fail.

We may have heard people talk of "living for God." They may delude themselves into thinking they are if they are attempting to do it with their own strength. If we are doing it in own own strength, it will be weak. This is not what God wants. He makes His own strength available to us that we may live powerfully through it. Do we want to be weak servants or powerful ones?

I would like to tell you that we will always have a spirit of exuberance, but I just can't. We can however have a spirit of peace and joy in the face of our daily situations. God has this wonderful patience with us, especially when we are not willing to do His will. In His great patience, He is willing to make us willing.

I have always wanted to play a musical instrument. Maybe one day I will have the time and patience to practice at it long enough to do it. I am continually amazed when I listen to people play an instrument really well. It becomes something to their touch that it is not to mine. My one finger plays "Mary Had a Little Lamb," while all of theirs play "Moon River." God is the "Master Musician." He wants permission to play on the instrument of our lives. When we grant it, our lives will be a pleasure to Him, a joy to us, and a blessing to others.

Have a wonderful day...Let your light shine for Him....Love mark Phil. 4:11
