Help - Past, Present, And Future

"Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, "thus far the Lord has helped us" " (1 Sam, 7:12).

There is a song in our songbook entitled, "God Will Make a Way." It says;

"God will make a way where there seems to be no way,
He works in ways we cannot see, He will make a way for me.
He will be my guide, Hold me closely to His side,
With love and strength for each new day,
He will make a way, He will make a way."

God is indeed the God of every tense...yesterday, today and in the future..

After the Israelites defeated the Philistines, the Bible says that they planted a stone and called it Ebenezer, saying, "thus far the Lord has helped us." Sometimes we need to be gently reminded that the Lord has helped us in the past. If WE planted a stone for every time he helped us, how large would our wall be?

Though our future may seem uncertain, with no clear path, God will make a way. "And Abraham called this place, The Lord Will Provide" (Gen 22:14). In Philippians 4:19, Paul wrote, "And my God will meet all your needs." It does not say maybe or perhaps....It says WILL!

As easy as it is to realize that the Lord has helped us in the past and provides for our future, we may still have difficulty trusting Him for the needs of today. It is important to understand that He is willing to do the same for us today as He did in the past, as well as He will do in the future. The Hebrew writer says, "The Lord IS my helper; I will not be afraid" (13:6). It is important to trust Him with our lives TODAY. Trust that He is our ever-present guide. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Heb. 13:8).

George Mueller, a British evangelist/philanthropist of the 1800s who built many orphanages, had a motto on his wall that read, "And Today."....We can lay claim to that and make it our credo for each day......"And Today."

Have a great today...Let you light shine for Him Love mark Phil. 4:11
