Not The "Rest Of The Story" But The "Story Of Rest"

"My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest" (Ex. 33:14).

We can always take great comfort in the knowledge of the assurance of God's presence with us. No matter how dire the circumstance, as Christians when burdened with cares, we can be encouraged to hear our Lord say to us, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Just a bit earlier, when Moses had gone up the mountain to be with God, the people turned to worship a golden calf they had fashioned.

Imagine how frustrated Moses must have been. In vs 13 he implores God for help. "If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so that I might know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people." In his discouragement, Moses knew that his only hope was his God. His request was, "that I may know you." Moses' reassurance was God's reply. "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Nothing less than the presence of God Himself.

This same wonderful assurance is for us today. In the midst of our dissappointments or discouragements, we can be buoyed by the presence. Its like a permanent lifesaver in the ocean of life, there for us whenever we feel like we are going to sink. So uplifting that we can stop thrashing around and wasting our own strength, and be supported by His power.

Our rest come by releasing our plans to Him and receiving His plans. Instead of concentrating on our problems, we can concentrate on Him. Our rest comes when we stop living for self and begin to live in Him. True rest will come not from things or people.....It will come from Our Lord. Its a gift....A personal one..."I will give you rest." We must take it by faith.

Have a wonderful week....Let you light shine...Love mark phil. 4:11
