Money In The Bank

"Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to guard that which I have entrusted to Him for that day" (2 Tim. 1:12).

Listen to Paul's absolute positive tone here. "I KNOW WHOM I have believed." Its not a wishy-washy "might" or "may" or "think," but KNOW. He not saying I'm "trying" to believe, but I KNOW! Paul's knowledge of Christ was more than an intellectual one. He had a personal relationship with the person, Jesus Christ. His faith was not just based on what he knew and believed, but IN WHOM he knew and believed.

In May and June we have the "family" holidays. Mother's Day, Father's Day and Children's Day. This includes all of us because we are a member of a family unit as either a mother, father, or child. More important than this however, is having the assurance that we can be a member of God's family. Are we able to say with confidence that we are a member of His family? "I know whom I have believed."

A really great thing about being in God's family is that He will "guard what I have entrusted to Him." When we commit to Him he promises to guard or keep us in His care. The word guard here comes from the Greek word meaning to deposit. Its like putting our money or valuables into a bank or safety deposit box. We do that because we think its safer there, than in our homes. We put it there for "safe keeping." How would we be viewed if we decided that it was not safer and withdrew it, and then opted to put it back because we changed our minds and thought it was?

Pretty wierd, huh? But are we sure that we don't do that with our needs? We "deposit" ourselves, family, and problems with the Lord, and then pick them up and carry them back with us. Be assured! EVERYTHING is safer with Him! "I know Whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to guard that which I have entrusted to Him for that day.....Its money in the bank....

Have a wonderful day...Make a difference....Love mark Phil. 4:11
