Being Chosen

"Blessed are those You choose and bring near to live in Your courts! We are filled with the good things of Your house, of Your holy temple" (Psa.65:4).

When I was a young boy, we used to choose up sides to play games. Two captains were designated and they went through some ritual to see who got to choose first. The selection began. Most of the time, you were chosen based on your ability to play the game. We were not very sensitive back in those days. Those chosen last knew they were not viewed as being very good players.

There may be times when you feel that you are under appreciated, or maybe not even wanted. At these times it is good to remember that there is One who both appreciates and wants us. God actually thinks that each of us is very special. So special that He has chosen us for Himself.(in no special order I might add) "Blessed are those You choose and bring near to live in Your courts." We know that our Lord wants us that in that "while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom. 5:8). The Apostle Peter puts it this way, "You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood." (1 Pet. 2:9)

In the world in which we live, there are people that we have have little chance to meet. There are others that we have to make appointments far in advance to meet. But the God our our world has given us instant and constant access to Him. We don't have to wait for an appointment. Through Jesus Christ we can come into His presence any time of the day or night. We don't have to have a special ability or be on some elevated level. He calls us His temple and says that, "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people." (2 Cor. 6:16).

Stop today and give praise to your God who has chosen you. Realize that you are valuable to Him

Have a great day...Let your light shine for Him...Love mark Phil. 4:11
