Having A Good Trip

"You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways" (Psa. 139:3).

What constitutes a good trip or vacation? How about planning? I will admit to you right now, I am not a very good planner. Jane has a brother who goes on alot of trips. Now He's a planner. He has the itinerary down to the minute with all the places to see and stay neatly planned.

Our God has planned a path for each of us. Jeremiah puts it this way. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." (29:11) The itinerary is not only known by our Lord, but He has it charted. "When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble (Prov. 4:12).

When we traveled as a family, the kids always looked forward to the "rest stops." Just a time while the wheels were not turning and they could get out and stretch their legs and get a snack. God knows the importance of these rest stops along our way. Because He knows we may fail to take them on our own, He has them in all the right places on our path, just for our benefit.

Sometimes on a long trip, we just need a little "down time." The Lord provides us with those quiet times. Times when we can meditate and think of Him and be aware of His constant love and care for us. In Mark 31: 6, after a busy time, Jesus said to His disciples, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."

Our God does not forget us or leave us out of His plans. He knows where we are every moment, and is watching over us. We can receive SO MUCH encouragement and instruction by resting in His Word. Whatever our situation, wherever we are, we can be assured that there is a rest for us....An inner rest of the soul...."There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His." (Heb. 4:9).

Have a wonderful day...Make a difference... Love mark Phil. 4:11
