Traces Of Our God

"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities---his eternal power and divine nature---have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse" (Rom. 1:20).

Hunters look for "traces" of the animals they are pursuing. Those who investigate crimes look for "traces" of evidence at the crime scene to help solve the case. All around us are "traces" of God. We are surrounded by them. God has left us with so many marks and signs that He has been here. The traces of His creation are so telling, that literally everything we come in contact with reminds us of His power, existence, and love.

The wonders of what He has "left behind" are powerful evidences that our God is real. If one fails to see the truth, it is not because the traces are not there. "For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities---His eternal power and divine nature---have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." To me, its a "grand slam home run," a "slam dunk."

As wonderful as the creation is, and as important as it is, it is even more important to see what that creation tells us about the nature of our God. If a work of art tells us something about the artist, surely the creation tells us something about the Creator. It tells us that He is a God of love. A God Who takes delight in beauty and joy. Look at the Himalayas, the geysers, the Grand Canyon, the deserts, the tropical rainforests. Look at the diversity of plant and animal life. LOOK AT US!

To look around us and at ourselves, is to receive the joy of the Lord. As we are surrounded by so many traces of God, how can we take in these wonders and miss what these wonders say about us? Just the fact that we are able to meditate on these things should persuade us that we were made for more than mere existence. We are special vessels into which God is able to, and wants to, pour in His delights.

Enjoy the day and weekend. May your worship to our God be both glorifying and satisfying. Love mark Phil. 4:11
