The Character of Our Lives

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2Chron.7:14).

In this scripture is the universal prescription for solving our problems, whether they be personal or corporate. We certainly live in a world of turmoil. The leaders of the world seek to find solutions in which their people can live in harmony and prosperity. It looks like we hold the key in our hands. "If my people, who are called by my name...."

God tells us here how we are to conduct our lives in relationship to Him. Look at the terms used here..."humble themselves" "pray" "seek my face" "turn from their wicked ways" God says if we meet these criteria, He will, "hear us from heaven" "forgive their sin" "heal their land" I believe these to be universal criteria. They will work to solve our problems on every level. It is good for us to pray for the leaders of the world that they may also see the wisdom of doing it God's way.

In Psalm 127, the writer says, "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat---for he grants sleep to those he loves." (1&2). Whether it is in building a life or a nation, doing it God's way is the recipe for success. "Unless the Lord Almighty had left us some survivors, (a remnant) we would have become like Sodom, we would have been like Gomorrah (Isa 1:9).

As we humble ourselves and pray, the course of our lives can be changed. Our greatest weapon against Satan is prayer. God has privileged us with the opportunity of bringing before Him the needs of our world, our community, our church, and ourselves. A small "remnant" of people can help change the direction of the world.

Have a great day...Let you light shine for Him....Love mark Phil. 4:11
