On Planning The Way

"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed" (Prov.16:3).

Decisions, decisions, decisions! Our lives consist of so many decisions we are called upon to make each day. Some of them are little one which do not impact our lives to a great extent, but some are life altering. How do we come to know God's will for us when faced with a particularly difficult decision? Especially when the solution to a problem seems almost impossible. Do we ever fall back on that old axiom, "If only someone could make that decision for me?" or how about, "If only someone could tell me what to do."

Enter God! We DO have someone who can make the decisions for us. We DO have someone who can tell us what to do. We can commit our lives to the Lord. We can commit it all! All of our problems, needs, and plans can be turned over to Him. Then they become His. "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun" (Psa. 37:5&6). As we commit ourselves (and our plans and decisions) to Him and come into agreement with Him, Our plans become His plans. "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."

What happens is that as we commit our works to Him, it is not us who chooses the outcome but Him. "To man belongs the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the reply of the tongue" (Prov. 16:1). We are not trying to get approval for our plans, but accepting His.

The reality is that God does not want our plans. He wants our lives. He wants our lives so that He can work our His plans through us. "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps" (Prov. 16:9). Our lives will be much more peaceful when we let Him direct our path.

Have a wonderful day....Let you light shine....Love mark Phil. 4;11
