"Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Eph. 4:13).

The speed at which we live is simply amazing for those of us who have been on the planet for a while. We can talk with anyone at any time in just seconds. We can get literally any bit of information in seconds if we press on the right keys. It is almost dizzying. What we cannot have instantly however, is maturity. "Until we all reach unity in the faith." Spiritual maturity does not come at the press of a key....It just takes time.

God has a place for each of us in the body of believers. I believe that he also has a function for us to perform. If we look back to verse eleven, there is a list, and as we look at verse 12 it says, "To prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up." It is God's plan to bring His believers to a point where they will grow spiritually. Grow spiritually into the "unity of faith." That we will also grow "in the knowledge of the Son of God." As a member of Christ's Body, we are to come to a oneness of faith that is based and built on the knowledge of Him.

It is evident that the church Acts 4:32 had this in mind. "All the believers were one in heart and mind." How much are we to mature you ask? "Attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." We are to mature into the design that He has for us, after all, we are His workmanship. Our maturity cannot be measured in parallel terms however. By that, I mean by each other. Our measurement of maturity as compared to the fullness of Christ is what we are striving toward.

You and I might respond, "I just can't measure up to that."

It is a correct response. We can't on our own. We can attain these lofty heights however, by allowing Christ to work within us. We can find our place in His Kingdom, and do those things that He wants us to do only through Him. Lets keep our sights on the goal.

Have a wonderful day...Let your light shine for Him....Love mark Phil. 4:11
