"Then those that feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in His presence concerning those that feared the Lord and honored His name" (Mal. 3:16).

When we attend a wedding, we almost always sign a book as we enter. It is a book for the bride and groom to look at later to see who was actually there. They had sent out many invitations, and this was a list of those who had actually attended. During a time of spiritual decline, there was a faithful remnant of believers that loved the Lord and remained faithful to Him. I might suggest that there are four things that are mentioned about them that can relate to us today.

First, it says, "then those that feared the Lord." In the Old Testament, fear of the Lord did not mean being terrified. Fear meant that they had a certain awareness of God that led them to be reverent and to desire to honor Him.

Then, "they talked with each other." They loved and revered Him so much that He was the prime topic of their conversation. Hmmmmm...When we get together, is the Lord the prime topic of our conversation? They were bolstered as they spoke of their love of their God. Their spirits were strengthened as they shared with each other what God meant to them. In 1 John 1: 3 we find these words. "We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you may also have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ."

The reason they talked about Him was that they were always THINKING about Him. Their minds were filled with their Lord. Malachi records here that God has a special "book of remembrance in which he records the names of those that feared and honored Him. "The Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in His presence concerning all those that feared the Lord and honored him." In the next verse the Lord says, "They will be mine,.....in the day when I make up my treasured possession." That's supposed to be us...His treasured possession.

He wants to say to us, "you are mine." When we realize today that we were bought with the great price of the life of His Son, can we doubt that He wants us as His special treasure? When we become the Lord's our name goes into the "guest book." The book of remembrance...The book of life...

Have a great day Make a difference....Love mark Phil. 4:11
