"Praise be to the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3)

One of my favorite lines from the sitcom Cheers took place when Norm walked in. They would ask him how his day went and he responded, "Its a dog eat dog world, and I'm wearing Milkbone underwear." Our world is a very competitive one, as people are in the accumulation business. The accumulation of "stuff," "things," "wealth," and possessions." The Christian life offers us something else. It offers us the immense reserves of heaven's riches. Riches that are at our disposal and have been deposited for us "in Christ."

Just look at those two words. A preposition, "in," and "Christ."

Two words that when joined, describe our position in life as a believer. "In Christ." Two words that are the linchpin to giving us access to all of the spiritual blessings of life that we need. "Now we are His children, then we are heirs---heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ." (Rom. 8:17). As believers, we are His children, and as His children we take part in His treasures. We are His heirs!

Our lives are changed when we are "in Christ." We go from spiritually dead to spiritually alive. Later in Ephesians, Paul writes this. "But because of His great love for us, God who is rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ even when we were dead in transgressions---it is by grace that you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus" (2:4-6).

It is all deposited for us in the First National Bank of Heaven. By being "in Christ," we have free access to all of those heavenly riches, with our feet on earth and our hearts in heaven. All of His resources are available to us, but only "in Christ." Ready to be appropriated into our lives for any need, at any time, but only "in Christ."

Two small words that are the biggest in our lives.....

Have a wonderful day....Make a difference....
