God's Promises

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful (Heb. 10:23).

Do you remember making promises to one another when you were a child? How solemn was a promise? Breaking a promise was tantamount to being rejected. It was going back on one's word. GOD HAS PROMISED...I would like to share with you this morning why we can trust in His promises. In the eleventh chapter of the book of Hebrews we find many of the promises that God has fulfilled. They were made to those who trusted Him. In this way, we can have the confidence that if God kept His promises as He helped those people of faith, that He will also keep His promises to us. (Heb. 11:11)

"Being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He promised" (Rom.4:21). The first reason we can trust in His promises is that he has the power to keep them. God knows what is going on in our lives and is concerned. His Word tells us, (Eph.3:20&21) that He will give us even more abundantly than our prayer requests. Not only is He concerned about our needs, but He is ABLE to supply them and fulfill our requests. He has the power.

"A faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time (Tit. 1:2). Our God is a God of truth. When He makes a promise it is kept because He simply cannot lie. How often have we been disappointed in someone we have trusted. It just happens sometimes in human relationships. It causes us to move on with caution because a trust has been broken. This never happens with our God. Not only is he ABLE to keep all of His promises, but He is committed....HE CANNOT LIE!!

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful." This is such a comforting thought....God will not disown us. Why? Because He is FAITHFUL. Even when as humans we waiver, God remains faithful. His promises are to be trusted implicitly....unquestioningly....HE IS FAITHFUL. In a marriage, certain promises are made. The promises are based on the faith that we have in each other. God is faithful always and can trusted always to keeps His promises.

It is a wonderful thing to be able to trust our God...It should give the believer a feeling of security and confidence....Have a great day...Make a difference...Love mark Phil. 4:11
