Quantity Or Quality Time

"Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have time to eat, He said, 'Come with me to a quiet place and get some rest'" (Mark 6:31).

We live our lives today in a frenzy. We measure our days by their productivity, and then tragically judge ourselves that way. There is a time to work, a time to play, and a time to rest. Rest is often more important than work. Sometimes it is better to do less with more. Our problem often is not the 40 hour work-week, but our 40 hour work-day. Take the lead from Jesus. He was never frantic with life, even though He knew that His would be short.

Sometimes we overuse the clique, "live one day at a time." Sometimes we under use it. Time can be measured in both quantity and quality. Both need to be used. The really important issues of life take time....Quality time! Relationships take time. They must be worked at and nurtured over a period of quality time. Life and all it has to offer us should not be rushed.

Every day that I am a Christian is a day of grace. I cannot be perfect for even one second, but I can be faithful one day at a time. There is nothing that life can throw at me that my Lord and I together cannot handle.

Urgency can be our enemy if we let it. Jesus had little patience with excuses. We all are familiar with the excuse of those invited to the banquet in Luke 14:18-28. "Bought a field, bought some oxen, just got married......" Instead of prioritizing our schedules, we need to be scheduling our priorities. The most urgent things in life are often not the most important; the most important things are often not the most urgent. A lesson?? Don't buy land or cows without God. Don't get married without God. Jesus said, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead" (Matt. 8:22).

Time determines eternity....Have a wonderful day....Let your light shine for Him...Love mark Phil. 4:11
