More About Agenda

"He came to his own and his own did not receive him" (Jn. 1:11).

He could change stones to bread but He did not. He could keep His divine agenda and save us...That He did..He was not a Tony Robbins or a Dr. Phil, trying to give us the secret to success. He was not a Kevin Trudeau, selling self-help books for profit. In fact, he told many that He healed not to tell anyone. Why? He wasn't their healer but their Savior. He wasn't just another "do-gooder" or salesman. In order to keep His agenda, He moved on.

Jesus fought a constant battle to keep His agenda. Literally everyone about Him tried to change it. Satan used three temptations to get Him to change it. His parents couldn't understand a 12 year old boy, "being about His father's business."(Lk.2:49) His mom tried to orchestrate His first miracle at Cana.(John 2:1-12) His brothers tried to tell Him when to go to a feast. (Jn 7:1-10) His own disciples (Peter the worst) attempted to get Him to alter His agenda...."Your preaching is too hard" (Jn 6:60). Jesus went as far as to call Peter, Satan, when he tried to stop Him from going to the cross. (Matt.16:21-23) Crowds?? There were always the crowds. They would try to make Him king by force if necessary. (Jn. 6:15) He went off be Himself....

Even Jesus enemies tried to change His agenda. Herod, Pilate, and Judas all tried. Sweating blood by Himself in the garden, Jesus asked God to "remove the cup." (Lk.22:42) In this case, He could not at this time even set this part of His own agenda. Jesus wisely put His agenda in the hands of His Father. The rest is history, and salvation for us.

That Jesus, through it all kept to the plan, means everything to us. No one could dissuade Him. He was on a mission from God. His agenda was clear and He must follow it for the redemption of the world. Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer stayed on course for us. Tomorrow.... some things about our agendas.

Have a wonderful day....Make a difference... Love mark Phil. 4:11
