We Are At The Center Of God's Plan

The Lord has a definite plan for each of His children. Since God is a God of order, this is reasonable to expect. It is sad but true that many Christians fail to find His plan and purpose for their lives. The consequence is often sadness, frustration, and disappointment. To me there is nothing more comforting than the knowledge that I am at the center of God's will.

We enter this plan when we submit to His will and become Christians. That's what Saul did in Acts Chapter nine. It culminated when he took on Christ in baptism in verse eighteen. We go on, as Saul, now Paul did, by daily submission to His revealed will. We do this by a powerful and daily prayer life. "But in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."....The results? "And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4"6&7).

By a continual reading and meditation on His Word, and a daily searching of the scriptures, we can come to a better understanding of His will for us. As we learn more of His will, the Holy Spirit is able to guide us along the right paths. His Word becomes "a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Ps.119:105). David said, "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you" (Ps.56:3).

Each step of the way our trust in Him should be echoed by our obedience. Because we are indeed living by faith and not sight, it isn't always easy to trace God's working in our lives. It is compounded by the testing that comes to all of us in one form or another. Peter said even through the trials to, "commit themselves to their faithful creator and continue to do good" (1 Pet.4:19).

Finally, God's plan for us has an earthly and heavenly part. Its like playing a sport. Earth is the practice, and heaven is getting to the championship game. The earthly part is the foundation, and heaven is the final product, the structure. God's ultimate plan for us is for us to live with Him forever. "This world with its lusts is passing away, but the one who does the will of God abides forever" (1 John 2:17).

Have a great day...Let your light shine for Him... Love mark Phil. 4:11
