Ambidextrous Sevice

"But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you" (Matt. 6: 3 & 4).

We don't need to see our names in the bulletin for services rendered. We don't even need a pat on the back by the minister for our benevolent acts. I have been chastised by a member for complimenting them on a service well done. The chastising was deserved, for this person was serving for all the right reasons. If our incentive for service is some kind of recognition, the point of CHRISTIAN SERVICE has been missed.

Jesus' teaching about this by using the "left hand/right hand example is simply masterful. When it comes to helping those in need.....Its all about God and their need....not about ourselves! Lets really "cut to the chase." GOD'S GLORY IS WHAT WE SEEK IN HELPING OTHERS.......NOT OUR OWN!

To serve our God is such a wonderful privilege. To give HIM credit is such a blessing. According to God's Word, serving others allows us to minister the One Who gave His all for us. To wipe the brow of our Savior and provide comfort during His most difficult hours.

Oh...A reward you ask? As you have the time today, please read Matthew 25: 34-40. These words are so powerful, I will not even try to amplify them. Lets us in our prayers, petition the Father so that we can serve Him and His wonderful Son.

Have a great start to your week...Make a difference....Love mark Phil. 4:11
