Vulnerability

"Concerning this, I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me......"My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ might dwell within me" (2 Cor. 12: 8 & 9).

These verses are talking about the "thorn in the flesh" that Paul had. We don't know what it was, but we know that it bothered him. He asked the Lord that it might leave him and the answer was heartrending, but clear and succinct. Being vulnerably honest before the Lord led Paul to a new discovery. "I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ might dwell in me."

Nehemiah sought solitude in order to get a clearer picture of the assignment that lay ahead of him. Surrounded by enemies from the moment he entered the promised land, Nehemiah entrusted himself to the Lord. As he considered the task ahead for him and his compatriots to complete in the coming days, his trust was totally in God.

God's call to separate from the crowd does not always include prolonged extrication from all of one's circumstances....For many, such a separation would be impossible. He will primarily invite us to a "spiritual solitude," that will provide shorter times of physical isolation in which our earthly pursuits will wane in their priority.

Leave the crowd.....Take the plunge into solitude...Walk alone in the light of God's healing presence as we make ourselves vulnerable to Him.

Have a wonderful day....Make a difference.... Love mark Phil. 4:11
