A Wonderful Commonality

"If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up" (Eccl. 4:10)!

From the very beginning God did not want us to be alone. Jesus' church is to be a place that is indeed His Body. There were special issues in the 1st century that caused division. It was why so much has been written in our Bibles about unity and harmony. Issues that might divide the Body here in the 21st century are no less dangerous

Before He was crucified, Jesus prayed for the unity of His followers. These are His words in that prayer. "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me (John 17:20-23).

What a wonderful plea for oneness! As we examine the motives of our hearts, lets make sure that we are trying our very best to worship "in the spirit and in the truth." Putting aside petty differences and simply putting God first. In this, we will offer a powerful testimony to the world about just who we are. A strong statement of what we stand for, and from whom our call comes.

Lets be bound together with the silken chains that cannot be broken. In this, when one of us falls, there will always be someone to pick us up. When one of us is hungry, there will always be someone there with sustenance. If one of us is cold, there will be someone to warm us. "As I have loved you, so you will love one another" (John 13:34).

Have a great weekend and a wonderful, uplifting and glorifying worship on His day...Make a difference.... Love mark Phil. 4:11
