Agents Of Justification

"He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification" (Rom.4:25).

According to the Coast Guard regulations, I am supposed to have several safety devices on my boat. There is to be a life vest for every passenger, a throwable life preserver, and some type of fire extinguisher. I am grateful that I have never had to utilize any of these, but they are necessary. Our spiritual safety is called justification. It is what Jesus offers us because we cannot save ourselves.

The first justification agent is God's grace. It is the "motive agent." "and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came through Jesus Christ" (Rom. 3:24). The second one is Christ. He is the "ready agent." "Through Him (Jesus) everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses" (Acts 13:39).

Thirdly is the agent that is procurable. It is the blood of Jesus. "Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through Him" (Rom. 5:9). The blood of Christ is available to each of us.

Fourthly there is the immediate agent. It based on the authority given to Jesus by His father. "And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God" (1 Cor. 6:11).

The fifth justifying agent is our faith itself. It is the basic human ingredient. "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom. 5:1).

Finally, the sixth agent of justification is by how we act upon our faith. James calls it our works. It is the agent of human activity. ""You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone" (Jas. 2:24).

Even though we do not deserve or merit being justified, God has laid out the plan for us. The ball is in our court, it is up to us to follow it.....

Have a wonderful day...Go about doing good....Love mark Phil. 4:11
