Put Me In Coach, I'm Ready To Play

"Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked" (Psa. 84:10).

I have written for a few days about the things that might hinder us from growing spiritually. Lets get ourselves in the "onward" mode today......Lets be ready to play..(I love that John Fogerty song)...Activity breeds growth. Get active within your church group....Today!!! If we remember the things that could hold us back, lets move past those and go onward. Within the dynamics of the church structure there is plenty of work to be done. If you have not been very involved, its good to start with something you can handle. Nothing like a bit of humility to get us started in the right direction. Think of the Psalmist's words. "I would rather be a doorkeeper." No one can get in if there is not someone willing to open the door.

Look for ways to be of service. Isaiah is one of my favorite prophets. The anger of the Lord was burning against His people. Some powerful servant was needed to His get the words to the people. ""Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me' " (6:8). This is what the attitude of the true servant of God ought to be...."Here I am....Send me." We cannot wait for the work to come to us, but rather, search it out. The very best servant (worker) is the one who can see the things that need to be done. He doesn't have to be told each step to take.

Lastly, there's the critic..Many of us are probably good critics. A critic obviously sees things, therefore ought to be among the best of servants. We can take a questionable trait, like saying, and turn it into a very good one, like doing. The two ought to go hand in hand. Pretty soon the critic will just see and not say....Do and not criticize...The song (Centerfield) goes like this..."I've got a beat up glove, a home made bat and a brand new pair of shoes.... I think its time to give this game a ride." We've got everything we need.... If we want to grow, we need to get in the game...

Have a great day...Let your light shine for Him... Love mark Phil. 4:11
