Git "R" Done

"Not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it----he will be blessed in what he does" (Jas. 1:25). In 1989 the Nike company came up with a slogan that has identified it since..."Just do it." Even though I am not a fan of Larry, I kind of like his identifying phrase, "Git "R" Done. As the apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians that they might be strengthened with the power of the Holy Spirit (3:16), so do we want that power. He took this one step farther in his epistle to the Philippians by writing that it was God who worked in them, "to will and act according to His good purpose" (2:13). Through prayer and the Word of God we can receive the power and strength we need. This power should provide strength to us for the most part, when it applies to our will....So....What's next?

Ultimately, what we think or say does not mean much until we are able to put it into action! It needs to become the "Just do it! It has to manifest itself in the "Git "R" Done! When His will becomes ours it should show itself in what we do. All that we believe about the power that He wants to instill in us cannot be seen until we decide to just do it! He is doing His part and it is squarely up to us to do ours. The gas is in the car and the keys are in our hands...It is up to us to turn the key and drive! The power is available, "work out your salvation with fear and trembling" (Phil. 2:12). To use a tennis term, God keeps hitting to ball into our side of the court, it is up to us to hit it back. If Newton's Law is correct, the harder He hits the ball to us, the harder we are able to hit it back.

I hope we believe that God, through His Spirit, is at work within us. Only if we are willing to use that power, can His power be displayed within us. It is our faith that believes that God's power is there, and it is by our faith that we act upon it, so we are able say; "For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me" (Col. 1:29)

Have a wonderful day...It would be a splendid day for a RAK... Love mark Phil. 4:11
