In With The Good Air - Out With The Bad

"We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up" (Rom. 15: 1 & 2).

Sometimes I think that there are so many people out there that are just plain inconsiderate. You have seen them in school at play or especially in the workplace. What a breath of fresh air is infused into any situation, where there are those who are considerate of one another. Brotherly kindness leads us in this direction. Today's verse speaks to those who are strong (those with brotherly kindness) picking up those who are not. "If what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause him to fall" (1 Cor. 8: 13). Even when one realizes his spiritual liberty in Christ and he is willing to sacrifice that freedom for the spiritual benefit and well-being of a weaker brother, this a true display of brotherly kindness.

Displaying brotherly kindness will make us be more careful of the things we say to, and how we judge a brother. We have all let out words that we were sorry for later. As we grow in brotherly kindness, these occurrences will become fewer and fewer. Also as we grow in this virtue, we will feel constrained toward service to one another. Paul writes: "And we urge you brethren, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone" (1 Thess. 5:14). Maturing in brotherly kindness will move us to the pursuit of the right things!! Things that will cause us to build one another up....Things that will always lead to peace. (Rom. 14:19).

Finally, I hope that as we are striving to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and become more Christ-like, that we will appreciate how important it is to love the brethren. That this brotherly love will grow day by day as we come to realize the need the for it's increase. I can't say it better than the Bible does...."May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for one another" ( 1 Thess. 3:13)

Have a great day....Go about doing good... Love mark Phil. 4:11
