RAK - Good Stuff

"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ to do good works" (Eph. 2:10).

As I continue with some things that are worthy of our meditation, we come to the daily walk of a Christian. When we reflect on Jesus, do we see someone who cared about people enough to do good things for them? Almost all of the miracles that Jesus performed made people's lives better, either in the short-term or long. As Christians, we have those same opportunities. I know that we do not have the miraculous powers of our Lord, but we do have special Christian power. This power involves the attempt to make peoples lives better. Today's verse says that we are God's workmanship....created in Christ....to do good works! As Paul writes to Titus, almost the entire third chapter is about doing good things....Verse one; "to be ready to do whatever is good." Verse eight; "And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone." Verse 14; Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good in order to provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives."

Most of you know that RAK means a random act of kindness. I like the term, but in actuality, our acts of kindness ought to be a way of life for us as God's children. Being a "spur of the moment person" might lead us to an occasional RAK from time to time, but good deeds should be a part of our very fiber as Christians. The more we meditate on this the more we will realize how much good we can do through our actions. The more good we do through our deeds, the more our Lord is glorified as we give Him all the credit. Just one more thought..."And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds" (Heb. 10:24). RAKs can and should be contagious..In a world where getting ahead all cost seems to be the norm, how much more lovely it would be if the playing field changed. Where the norm would revolve around how many good things we do...That in itself is worth our meditation today....

Have a wonderful week....Your labor in the Lord is not in vain... Love mark Phil. 4:11
