What It's Made Of

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" (Heb. 11:1).

The primary ingredient in tofu is soybean. I know this because of the crossword puzzles I do every day. The base ingredient of poi is the root of the taro plant. (whatever a taro is...also a crossword staple) Since the next helping of tofu or poi that I try will be my first, I will accept that these things are true. The primary ingredient of a Christian's life is faith.....being sure of what we hope for and the certainty of that which we cannot see....The dictionary says that it means a belief without proof; trust. A Bible dictionary calls it the persuasion of mind that a certain statement is true with it's primary idea being trust. The primary faith(s) that a Christian maintains is the belief in God and His Son Jesus. Today's verse is from the eleventh chapter of the Book of Hebrews. If you read through this chapter, you will find some benchmark things done in Biblical history. All of them are prefaced by the term by faith...They are a good read.....

Not only is faith worthy of our meditation time, but it is actually cool and challenging. Later in this chapter the writer states; "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him" (V 6). So what we have here is no conundrum as some would have it seem...Being a Christian requires that we believe in God and that He rewards those who actively and earnestly seek Him. Then it is a conviction and trust that Jesus is His Son and did what he did. John put it this way; "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." (1:9). Our Faith is also the trust and persuasion in what He said..."I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" ....."I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (14:6).

Our faith in God and His Son is the cornerstone of our existence as Christians. It is surely worthy of our deepest meditation......

Have a wonderful day....A RAK would be appropriate.... Love mark Phil. 4:11
