It's The Truth - Honest

"I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).

My Thorndike Barnhardt Advanced Dictionary gives me this about the word truth: "That which is true...the facts; matter of circumstance as it really is....Fixed or established principle, law, etc....That which is true, real actual, in a general or abstract sense. reality; find truth in God...Quality or nature of being true, exact, honest, sincere, or loyal." If you will pardon my feeble attempt at humor......if this is a true definition, then Jesus said He was all of that....and more! In the world, truth seems to take on a relative meaning of that which is true for you, might not be true for me. The Bible does not accept this view, but describes truth as it relates to that which is factual and absolute. There is no relativity here...Jesus saying that He was the truth can be taken then at face value. In His response to Pilate asking Him whether He was a king, Jesus said; "You are right in saying that I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me" (John 18:37). To his credit, Pilate was intellectually curious here and asked, "What is the truth?"

In speaking of Jesus, John wrote; "The word became flesh and made His dwelling place among us. We have seen His glory in the one and only who came from the Father, full of grace and truth" (1:14). Make no mistake! When Jesus said that he was the truth, He meant it. When He says that he came to testify to the truth it means that He is testifying about things that are fact. To a world that seems to be captivated be "reality shows" on TV, what Jesus proclaims is reality, plain and simple. A denial of this will not change the reality, because Jesus' truth is not relative. The Bible tells us that our God is a God of truth....That the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth...That the judgements of God are according to the truth...Now to me, this is reality...There is more about truth to come....

Have a great beginning to your week...Wouldn't today be a good day for a RAK? Love mark Phil. 4:11
