The Whole - A Sum Of It's Parts

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always perseveres" (1 Cor. 13:4-7).

If the passage of scripture looks familiar, it is the same as yesterday's which I asked you to read over a few times. It is cool to know that ROYGBIV represents the spectrum of visible light, but what really is red and how is it different than it's neighbor orange? Well, simply put, orange is different than red because it's frequency of vibration (vps) is a little more rapid. That makes orange a bit hotter than red and not quite as hot as yellow. Just as understanding this helps us to understand the nature of light, understanding the components of love helps us to get it. Love requires that a person is patient and kind. The Christians in Corinth were jealous as they sought out gifts that would make them seem to be more important. Love ought to take that attitude and smother it! When angry words are flying around, love ought to be the calming influence. There just is not any room in the heart of a Christian for pride, arrogance or boastfulness.

In love, we attempt to enter the mind of Christ. Instead of always seeking for self, love constrains us to respect the views and experiences of others. When we see others engaging in activities that would cast a bad eye on Christ, we need to not delight in evil. It is love that should motivate us to do the right things. Just as the "skin" of a fruit or vegetable protect it, a Christian because of love, ought to have a "thick skin." If not, we will be just like anyone else in an uncomfortable situation...confrontational and belligerent... Love motivates one to forgive...THE RIGHT WAY!!!!! Love just does not keep records of wrongs done to us. Our minds should not be like filing cabinets with all the records of things done against us. To forgive in love, is to really forgive, and then move on. There's no malice in love... Love ought to allow us to find the good in others rather than seek the bad stuff. Otherwise, how can we protect, hope, trust and persevere? No one should ever look at a Christian and ask; "I wonder what makes him tick"? Love makes us tick...It is the mind of Christ taking residence in the heart of man..It's sum of a lot of things that makes us better...

Have a wonderful day...Go about doing good.... Love mark Phil. 4:11
