Being Unique

"Jesus is the same yesterday and today and tomorrow" (Heb. 13:8).

Has anyone ever said that you were unique? In today's world it is probably a kind of PC way to say that one is weird. Unique is diversely defined, but two of the definitions that I like are; existing as the only sole example or having no equal. Today's verse by itself tells us that Jesus is unique, but there is lots, lots more...In the Old Testament, there are many references to the coming of Jesus. They are commonly known as Messianic prophesies. One of these prophesies that I would like to discuss this morning is found in the Book Of Isaiah. "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel" (7: 14). In the gospel of Matthew, an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and said to him; "All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel ---- which means, 'God with us' " (1:22-23). The angel clearly knew that this event was the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy. This does not qualify Jesus as anything but unique...

The word Immanuel appears only three times in our Bibles, and the magnificent concept of "God with us" is simply awesome! That Jesus came to earth in the form of a man, but with God's nature is almost too much to comprehend. It is so meaningful to us in our lives as we try to be like Jesus. In coming to earth and living among men, Jesus forever changed the landscape of our worship. Through our Bibles we get a dramatic view of God the Father through Jesus. "Anyone who has seen me, has seen the Father"......."Believe me when I say that I am in the father and the Father is in me" Lets just give praise to our God that we had Immanuel...That we had "God with us." How wonderful! How magnificent! How Unique!

Have a great start to your week...Begin it with a RAK or two... Love mark Phil. 4:11
