Unbelievable Two

"Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in Him....Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of God been revealed?" (John 12: 37-38)

As the prophecy of Isaiah 53 came to fruition in Jesus and God took human form in Him, Isaiah's words testified that God's plan was unfolding. In today's verse, even after many miracles, John observes that many still did not believe. Was Jesus that unbelievable? John adds that their failure to believe was also a fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy that reads; "Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" Although He has been portrayed by some handsome actors in the movies, Jesus was not a swashbuckling figure. His birth was very ordinary and until the time of His ministry, little is written about Him. He had fame but no wealth and His great strength to many would appear as weakness. Though He developed quite a following, He commanded no great armies...Great leaders of the day would conquer with armies and weaponry, but Jesus our Lord would conquer with gentleness, humility and servitude.

Isaiah uses a lot of wonderful phraseology to describe the coming Jesus...Immanuel...God with us, (7:14), Prince of Peace....Everlasting Father...Wonderful Counselor...Mighty God..( 9:6). Jesus is indeed the Son of God and the head of the church. So many wonderful descriptions, but none can reach into the depths of what transpired between God and man when Jesus suffered on the cross..In chapter 53, Isaiah portrays Jesus as the suffering Savior, the Servant of the Lord. Through these words we come to know about God's mercy, grace and love. He is the one to whom we can reach out and place our faith in. Its so good that it's almost unbelievable...

Have a great day...Make a difference... Love mark Phil. 4:11
