Connection By Involvement

"Worship is the most important and at the same time the most difficult thing that we do.....Worship involves man's spirit and this means that it is not simple nor easy nor ordinary. Many people do not know what worship is in its full and complete sense, and hence, they do not know how to worship God"

Batsell Barrett Baxter...

Have any of you ever been to a major sporting event or a Broadway Show? I will admit to you that I enjoy these, but I am realistic enough to know that I am just a spectator. My involvement in them is limited to shouting, clapping or standing up from time to time. The players or actors are the real participants...Real and true worship requires a significant shift from being a spectator to becoming an active participant. "With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the exalted God" (Micah 6:6)? (Micah 6: 6-8 would be excellent verses to meditate upon today)...Real and true worship actually involves a restoration of our minds and hearts. It is certainly more than a some mental exercise, and it is clearly not a spectator sport...The form of worship that we exercise is relevant, but not primary...It is our involvement that connects us to God. When I look at players on the field or actors on the stage, it is clear that much preparation has gone into reaching this pinnacle of their chosen pursuit. And here lies one of the obstacles that keeps us from reaching the pinnacle also...Its lack of preparation! To be prepared and involved in true worship our lives must be rooted in prayer. God wants to know we're here. Real worship and our connection to God means that we live a sacrificial life. "And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple" (Luke 14: 27).

Finally, being truly connected to God involves leading a life of high moral and ethical behavior. "You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body" 1 Cor. 6:20). A our real worship focuses on God's presence and impacts our hearts, it connects us to God and to others. This only happens if we become active participants, rooting our lives in the Lord...

Have a great day....Good people make a difference... Love mark Phil. 4:11
