David's Soul Healing

"After removing Saul, He made David their king. He testified concerning him: 'I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do' " (Acts 13: 22).

Perhaps as we search through the fifty first Psalm, we can find the reason for God making the sweeping statement found in today's verse. Remember from yesterday, David had committed a terrible sin and compounded it. Knowing this, he felt that his soul was in desperate straits and was in need of healing. Healing that comes only from the Lord! As we take a look at the first thirteen verses of this Psalm, we can find out just how through David's pleading and confidence, that his soul is healed. In verses 1 and 2, David beseeches God in desperation, knowing that He has the only healing power...God sees! In verses 3-6, he cries out in truth...God hears! In verses 7-10 David asks for a cleansing and healing...God cleanses and heals! In verses 11-12, he asks for a restoration of his spirit that he might be sustained...God restores and sustains! Lastly in verse 13, David asks for a message with which he can use as an example...God gives him a soul-healing message! The fifty first Psalm is to soul-healing today, what Gray's Anatomy was to surgeons in its day. Its message is clear in understanding that only our Lord can remove the blot and guilt of sin from our hearts and make us whole again. When healed, we can turn others on to this wonderful prescription for soul healing through our experience. David's soul-healing and cleansing can be ours if we follow his lead...More tomorrow....

Have a great day... Go about doing good... Love mark Phil. 4:11
