More Peak Fruit

"The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control" (Gal. 5:22).

Yesterday I talked about love, joy and peace. Upon ripening to their peak, they help to develop our relationship with God. When patience, kindness and goodness ripen to their peak, our relationship with others is maximized. These are lovely and succulent fruit that help us to become "people persons." God has always shown a great amount of patience toward us. "Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation" (2 Pet. 3:15). As this fruit ripens perfectly within in us, we will become more patient with others, just as our Lord is patient with us. The Lord extends kindness to us in many ways. He patiently gives us time to get our lives in order and come to Him, thus this kindness is an extension of His patience. When the fruit of kindness ripens to it's peak within us, we will be less judgmental toward others. How many times have we just looked at other people with a jaundiced eye because they did not meet our expectations? With patience developing into kindness, we will get out of the judging business. Finally, there is the beautiful fruit of goodness. "Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (Ps. 23:6). God constantly shows His goodness toward us. He did this in an ultimate way by sending His Son to us. When the fruit of goodness ripens to perfection within us, we will want to do good for others. This fruit of goodness will support our good works that are done for the benefit of others. So our patience develops kindness which evolves into goodness toward others. The coolest thing about this is that we will take no credit for our deeds, but let others know that it was the Lord at work within us..The last of the three for next time...

Have a wonderful day...A RAK would be great... Love mark Phil. 4:11
