Hitting The Right Notes

"You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you have eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me" (Jn. 5:39).

Have you ever heard an orchestra "tune up?" One of the instruments hits a note, and the others key off of it to make sure that their instruments are in tune. If you've ever been to a concert or Broadway Musical, you hear this going on for several minutes before the performance begins. Even though I am not a musician, I have figured this out...That first note is rather important...I want us to look at ourselves as musical instruments today, and we want to tune them to the proper note in scripture. Our churches are all about worship, Bible study, guidance and fellowship....But what's the first note? "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that He was buried and raised on the third day" (1 Cor. 15:3-4). The first note is JESUS! The apostle Paul said it right here and Peter said it in Acts 2:22-24. Christianity is all about seeking Jesus....He is the first note off which we must tune ourselves...Jesus said in today's verse that "these are the Scriptures that testify about me." Jesus is the note that gets everyone started. He gets us all on the right course by tuning us in to His life and teachings. His death, burial and resurrection, free us from the bonds of sin and allow us to play all the notes of life the way they are supposed to be played. Then come the great symphony...."I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (Jn. 14:6). When we find Jesus, He points us to God, His Father....Ahhhhhhhhh.... I can hear the beautiful music right now....

Have a wonderful day...Go about doing good... Love mark Phil. 4:11
