Does Jesus Have The Remote?

"Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you" (Rom. 8:8-9).

I remember when the remote control came out for TVs. I also remember foolishly saying something about how lazy a person must be if they were not willing to get up and change the channel...That would never be me...I am now able two watch to games and a movie at the same time....Whew!!!! Just for a moment today, I would like to imagine ourselves as TVs, with Jesus handling the remote. What is it like to have Jesus in control of our lives? The apostle Paul wrote the words of today's verses and these also; "I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me" (Gal. 2:20). It certainly appears that Jesus had the remote in Paul's life. The places he went and the words that he spoke were all controlled by his special relationship with Jesus. Jesus had the remote....When we become Christians, we hand over to controls to Jesus...In being united with Him we live a new life, no longer being slaves to sin. Jesus forgives our sins and takes on our guilt as we have become a new creation...In many aspects of life, people that function the best are those that can deal with pressure. Jesus is able to eliminate the pressure from me and place it on Himself...After all, He has the remote. Lastly, we don't have to go through life wearing a mask. We can be who we are because Jesus relieves us from guilt through our confession to Him. If we really want Jesus to be in control, prayer is a necessity. For Christians, prayer ought to be a reality of life. After all, the remote only works if we are close enough to what is being controlled. Prayer is the way that we maintain that closeness...More about the remote tomorrow...

Have a great beginning to your week....Start it with a RAK (or more) Love mark Phil. 4:11
