I Know Him And He Knows Me

"The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs---heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ" (Rom.8:16-17).

There are many things in life over which we have no control. We did not get to choose our parents or families. The marriage relationship is so special in that we actually get to choose the person that we want to live the rest of our life with. It's no wonder that Jesus said; "For this reason a man will leave his mother and father and be united (KJV cleave) to his wife" We also get to choose if we want God to be our Father....Our Spiritual Father....When we make this great choice we can give our old life a proper burial and get on with the new. We do not owe that old life in which we tried to do everything by our self one thing. Do you remember the innocence of early childhood in which expectancy was always so exciting? Today's verse says that when we make the choice, we become God's children. It comes complete with that child-like expectancy of our early years. We get to start a brand new Father/child relationship. He already knows us, but there is a wonderful thrill for us as we get to know Him better and better. The relationship comes replete with many promises from our new Father. The verse says that we become His heir. This heirship comes with a promise that we will "get what's coming to us." It is an unbelievable package of things both in life (the Holy Spirit) and after life (living with Him forever). As His sons, Jesus automatically becomes our brother....How cool is that? "Heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ." The same God that brought life to Jesus will bring life to us. There will be no difference between us and Jesus as his children...In Him we have assurance of a true identity...We are HIS CHILDREN....

Have a great day....Let His light shine in you... Love mark Phil. 4:11
